Brief History of Creative Artss Department


The Creative Arts Department was establish in 1973 / 1974 academic year and the first batch of students were examined by the City and Guilds of London Institute in the following components; Craft Theory, Associate Subject and Practical Test. The programme was then known as Painting and Decoration.
Through the introduction of the new modern concept and for that matter change in curriculum, the programme had its name change to Creative Arts Technology. It has two major components – Generics and Trade area subjects. The Generic subject also known as Core subject include Maths, Science, Social Studies, English, ICT and Entrepreneurship. The Trade area specialization subjects include Applied Arts and Building Tech, Principles of Painting and Decoration, Drawing and Designing and Painting & Decoration Practicals.
We Train Learners With Skills for the Industry
Creative Arts Technology is a programme designed to equip learners with the 21st Century skills in giving aesthetic value to buildings and structures,automotive spraying, clothing, screen painting, industrial and domestic painting and sign works of which the graduates become self employed or job-market-ready to be employed by others.
