Kpando Technical Institute, established in 1956 by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, is the premier pre-tertiary technical and vocational school in the Volta Region. Originally known as the Gold Coast Trade School, it began with four departments and has since evolved into a full Technical Institute offering 14 programs in Engineering, Construction, Business, and Hospitality. Over the years, the school has trained thousands of skilled professionals who now serve in key institutions in Ghana and abroad, with notable alumni including General [RT] H.K. Anyidoho and Dr. George Afeti.
