Brief History of Dagadu House

Dagadu House is one of the six prestigious residential houses at Kpando Technical Institute (KTI), revered for its exceptional record in cleanliness, academics performance, sportsmanship, discipline, and environmental stewardship. With a rich tradition of nurturing well-rounded students, Dagadu House is more than a residence; it stands as a model of leadership and character development. As a mixed-gender house, it proudly represents both boys and girls, with the boys accommodated in three dormitories; A, B and C and the girls as such at separated location on campus. Identified by its vibrant Yellow colours and the house also bears a name of significant cultural importance, “Dagadu House” — named in honour of Togbe Dagadu VII, the Paramount Chief of the Akpini Traditional Area. This royal heritage inspires the house’s fitting slogan: “The Royal House”.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

Dagadu House is dedicated to shaping students into disciplined, responsible, and high-performing individuals by seeking to:

✔ Build future leaders with integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.

✔ Uphold high disciplinary and order standard among members of the house
✔ Promote academic excellence through study groups and peer mentoring and academic support.
✔ Encourage cleanliness and environmental care in dormitories and school grounds.
✔ Foster team spirit and participation in all school activities.
✔ Excel in sportsmanship and extracurricular competitions.

Challenges Faced by the Houses

Limited Resources for Training: Both houses face challenges in accessing adequate sports equipment and learning materials to support their programs effectively.

Overcrowding and inadequate residential space and bed, due to growing enrolment

Infrastructure Constraints: Limited space and facilities for practice sessions (e.g., sports and drama) hinder full performance potential.

Dagadu House has consistently performed excellently in annual inter-house athletics competitions.
Dagadu house has produced top athletes who have represented the school at district and regional levels.
Champions of the Inter-House Football Tournament (2023).
Winners of the School Volleyball Cup (2022).

Discipline Achievements:

Recognized for maintaining a high level of discipline during school functions and events.

House received the “Most Disciplined House” award in 2022.

Dagadu House achieved a 100% punctuality record during the 2024 academic year.
