KPANTECH Goes Digital:The Institute Pioneers Fully Online SRC Elections for 2025.

In a landmark move set to redefine student governance, the Kpando Technical Institute’s (The Great Kpantech)  administration, in collaboration with the Electoral Commission (EC) of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC), has announced and deployed a digital platform used for the just ended SRC election held on the 1st of October, 2025.

This initiative, dubbed “The Digital Ballot,” marks a decisive shift from the traditional paper-based system and is aimed at enhancing accessibility, increasing voter turnout, and streamlining the entire electoral process.

“For years, we have witnessed the energy and occasional challenges of our manual elections—long queues, logistical delays, and the tedious task of manual counting,” Mr. Adeti explained. “By transitioning to a secure online system, we are not only modernizing our processes but also empowering every student to exercise their franchise seamlessly.

How the Digital System Works

According to the Head of the SRC Electoral Commission, Mr. Issac Kofi Adeti, the process has been designed with security and simplicity in mind.

  1. Voter Verification: Eligible students will log into the dedicated election portal using an ID and Password generated for each student using the school’s electoral register.

  2. Digital Ballot: Upon verification, students will be presented with a digital ballot specific to each portfolio and the respective candidates and their image.

  3. Casting the Vote: Votes are cast with a single click. The system ensures each student can vote only once and that their vote remains anonymous.

  4. Real-Time Tally & Transparency: as the polls continue, the votes are being tallied automatically. The system will generate a public, auditable result log, which will be made available to all candidates to ensure transparency.

The SRC EC has conducted a series of  in-person tutorials  to familiarize all students with the new platform. A mock election was also conducted  to test the system under simulated conditions. Teachers were at the center to help students with what ever problems that might have arisen to streamline the entire process. The system allowed about 30 students to vote simultaneously and the voting process should last at most 2 minutes.

This fast pace of voting coupled with how secure the platform is has really fas-tracked the election process.
