Our department stands at the forefront of technical education, equipping learners with the essential skills and knowledge required to meet the growing demands of modern infrastructure and sustainable energy solutions. As Head of Department, my vision is to foster an environment where innovation, professionalism, and practical expertise thrive together.
Brief History of Plumbing and Gas Fitting Technology
The Plumbing and Gas Fitting Technology Department Was established in 2010 with the population of five(5) students and two(2) teachers.
The Main aim of the programme is to develop effective craft skills, knowledge and attitude in learners so that they can completely apply these skills in the industry.
The population of the Department has significantly increased over the years with current three year batches around 400 students.
This Significant increase in numbers stems form the continuous improvement in academic performance, good facilitation and resourcefulness from both the management of the school and the departmental teachers.
Achievements
The Performance of students has continously increased . The Departments’ academic performance has been one of the best in the school for the past years and we hope to sustain and improve it.
The Department developed a resource room to facilitate effective practical training programme to meet the industrial standard.
The department hopes to meet international occupational industrial standards; using some few facilities it has acquired over a short period of time.

This means that every program, workshop, and practical session we deliver is designed to bridge the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world application. Careers in Plumbing & Gas Fitting Tech.
- Plumber – Specializes in installing, repairing, and maintaining water supply lines, drainage systems, and fixtures in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- Gas Fitter – Focuses on installing and servicing gas lines, appliances, and systems, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations
- Pipefitter/Steamfitter – Works with high‑pressure piping systems in industries such as manufacturing, energy, and chemical plants, often handling complex layouts and specialized materials.
- Plumbing and Gas Systems Inspector – Ensures installations meet safety codes and standards, conducting inspections for compliance and advising on corrective measures
