Samuel Happy Kwadzo Avevor hails from Anloga- Setsinu in the Volta Region of Ghana. He had his elementary education at Anloga E.P. Primary and Middle School from where he proceeded to Zion College, Anloga for his ‘O’ level which he passed with Division One in 1987.

He trained as a teacher at Akatsi Teacher Training College now Akatsi College of Education and graduated in 1991.

He taught Technical Skill and Drawing at Sefwi Chirano DC Junior Seconding School (J.S.S) and Sefwi Bekwai DC JSS for three years and one year respectively.

Mr. Avevor holds a Diploma in Technology Education (first class) in 1998 and B.Ed. Technology Education (second class upper) in 1999 both from the University College of Education- Kumasi Campus now AAMUSTED and Commonwealth Executive MBA from KNUST in 2011. He taught at Akatsi Teacher Training College from 1999-2016. During this period, he held a lot of positions: including, Form/Class Advisor, Housemaster, Head of Unit, Head of Department, Assistant Chaplain and Academic Staff Representative on the College’s Governing Council. He has also been a facilitator at many Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) workshops and a seasoned Basic Design Technology (BDT) Examiner who rose through the ranks and became a Zonal Leader.

Mr. Avevor was the first substantive Headmaster of Nkwanta Community Senior High Technical School from 2016-2020 and currently the Principal of Kpando Technical Institute. 

Mr. Avevor is an elder of The Church of Pentecost and has served in many capacities as Local and District Youth Leader, Local and District Secretary, Assistant Area Youth Leader, Recorder, Presiding Elder District Executive Member and Nkwanta Area Deacon.

Workshops and Seminars

Mr. Avevor has attended many workshops and seminars. Among these are:

  • Workshop on validation of Workplace Experience Learning at Capital View Hotel, Koforidua.
  • Workshop on Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) at Kpando Technical Institute.
  • Workshop on validation of CTVET 5-year strategic plan at Ange Hill Hotel.
  • Workshop on the Implementation of the Interim Harmonized CBT Curriculum at Chances        Hotel, Ho.
  • Workshop on TVET Financial Mechanisms at City Escape Hotel, Prampram.
  • Green Skills Training Workshop at Crystal Rose Hotel, Ahodwo, Kumasi
  • Workshop on Compliance and Enforcement Working Tools and Documents at Eastern Premier Hotel, Koforidua.
  • Workshop on Greening Skills and Jobs for TVET Staff at Sky Plus Hotel, Ho.

Currently Mr. Avevor is the National Federation, Chairman for Ghana TVET Sports, The Regional Chairman, Volta Region Technical Institutes Sports Association (VOLTISA), the Interim Volta Regional Chairman for Conference of Principals of Technical Institutes and the Board Chairman of Winners Cooperative Credit Union, the largest Credit Union in the Volta Region.

Mr. Avevor also recently won a Presidential Award as the National Best Principal in the promotion of Cadet Corps for TVET Institution for the 2024/2025 academic year. As part of the award he undertook a five-day educational trip to Greater Manchester Police Headquarters in UK.

Mr. Avevor is a result-oriented person who has initiated a lot of infrastructural development project in the institute as well as educational interventions aimed at improving skills and academic outcome.
